Healthy Eating…

food01Pupils were shown a video about healthy eating. Ms Joan put fruit and vegetables in a feely bag and tried to guess the kind of fruit and vegetable. The students enjoyed this element of surprise while learning about fruit and vegetables and the importance of the daily consumption of such food 🙂

One group coloured the butterflies, another group coloured the caterpillars, and the third coloured egg carton boxes in two different shades of green.

Apart from learning the life cycle of a butterfly, the students had the opportunity to enhance their fine motor skills and to learn about colours and textures 🙂

Smoothies galore…

smoothiePromoting a healthy lifestyle is on the school’s agenda. Children spend too much time seated while studying, doing work, watching television or playing with computer games. Thus it is important to make our students aware of healthy eating habits and a substantial amount of exercise.

The Kindergarten students of Ms Debono prepared a very healthy smoothie using bananas and strawberries. Well done 🙂

Learning through discovery… Valletta

The year 2 students had the opportunity to visit the capital city of Malta, Valletta. During this outing the students enjoyed listening to Benny singing a number rhyme. The enjoyed this song and joined in the chorus attracting a number of tourists.

They then proceeded to Pjazza San Ġorġ where they had the opportunity to see the square covered in flowers. The students were lucky enough to visit the palace in St George’s square. While at the square they were saluted with the gunshot 🙂
