In THE SECRET GARDEN written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, a young British girl is orphaned by an earthquake in India and is sent back to England to live in her uncle’s castle. Soon, she discovers a beautiful garden on the property and explores its secrets. The students of Year 4.1 relived this novel through a storytelling series, after which they wrote a summary of it and drew beautiful pictures!
An educational outing based on sensory tuff trays sessions on theme which emerged from our students on transport. There was story telling time and freeplay.
Children were given a triangular piece of paper cut in the shape of a kite. They were given leaves and twigs, some glue and string. We built a kite together using nature loose objects such as leaves and twigs. They eventually, which was quite interesting, went to use the loose wooden parts and pretend play that they are driving a car.
The students of Year 4.1 have presented excellent displays of The Solar System as part of their Science Project Work! These are now beautifully exhibited in the school corridor for all to enjoy! Big well done for these amazing works of art!! Ms Lewis
This year, the students of Year4.1 have been using various apps from their tablet to practice their grammar, vocabulary and different styles of writing. Such apps include SimpleMinds, Kahoot, PicSay and Author Premium. The students are extremely happy to be learning these new apps and exploring different ways of presenting their literacy related tasks. Well done to all! Ms M. Lewis
