The Kinder 2 students of Ms Janice and Ms Marija, together with Ms Marika during some of the activities held in conjunction with the health factor project. Promotion of a healthy lifestyle is essential from a very early age.
Educating students from a young age about living a healthy life and learning to make the right choices when eating and drinking are imperative. Here are more photos of students from kindergarten during the two week period covering the promotion of healthy eating and a healthy living. This project was launched on a national scale.
The kindergarten students are buzzing with energy. This week the students are participating in the Health factor project which helps students to become aware of a healthy lifestyle. In the above photos students can be seen doing exercise, learning about dental hygiene and “pretend play” to capture these moments.
The Kindergarten classes, together with a number of other schools, have embarked on a Health Factor Project which promotes healthy lifestyle and is related to the Education for All document.
“The project is designed to assist Kindergarten Assistants with teaching their pupils the importance of healthy eating and physical activity so they are encouraged to make healthy lifestyle choices and better their chances of becoming active healthy adults.”
The project aims to encourage students: to develop a strong sense of identity; to make healthy choices with regards to food, drink and exercise; to gain a positive self-image; to become socially adept; and to nurture positive attitudes towards learning, becoming engaged and confident learners.
The programme will be carried out over a period of 2 weeks.
