4th April 2014 was a special day for our school. Special guests visited our school as “reading ambassadors”. The aim of this event was to promote reading. The school officially launched its first issue of the school magazine, Mit-Tfal… Għat-Tfal…
Ganni and Corazon, together with the Permanent secretary, Mr Joseph Caruana, Ms Coleiro, Mr David Muscat and Mr Sammut, the college principal, visited our school with a very important mission in mind – that of promoting reading.
The event kicked off with a brief introduction of the student council members and school council members who were introduced to our distinct guests. The students took the opportunity to present the first copy of the school magazine to the permanent secretary. Mr Caruana presented Corazon and Ganni with an official certification acknowledging them as reading ambassadors.
The guests were ushered to the year 1 and year 2 classes for reading sessions to begin. Meanwhile the permanent secretary, Mr Joseph Caruana, was kind enough to visit all the classrooms and have a chat with our members of staff and students.
A special guest, Mikiel (Agenda’s reading mascot) visited our classrooms. The students were head over heals when Mikiel entered their classrooms. The school takes this opportunity to thank Agenda Book Shop for the books donated to the school.
When the reading session was over, the year 3, 4, and 6 students gathered in the hall for a forum during which questions were asked to our ambassadors and the permanent secretary. Before the forum began, the year 2 students sang a song about reading.
Before leaving the school, Ganni and Corazon sang a song to our students and they also spared some time to sign autographs.
Special thanks goes to our distinct guests Mr Joseph Caurana, Ganni, Corazon, the college principal, Mr David Muscat (EO Malti) for organising this event and Mr Zammit who took photos of this event.
And finally a special thanks goes to all the members of staff who helped in the smooth running of the event.
Enjoy reading 😉
