Earth day is an annual celebration which the Green Club hold at heart. Ms Rodgers, assistant head, organises an annual parade to promote the importance of caring for our planet Earth. The day kicked off with a special assembly organised by the Yr 5.1 students of Ms Melanie Sultana. During the assembly topics, such as global warming and the importance of disposing of rubbish responsibly, were discussed.
Even the youngest students in kindergarten contributed to the promotion of Earth Day by displaying their message on one of the school’s noticeboards. This activity was organised by Ms Joanne Galea, Ms Josianne Camilleri and Ms Nagaat Bugeja (Kindergarten Educators).
Around 70 students, together with their teachers and Ms Rodgers, walked along the streets of Mgarr to share their message to locals and tourists alike. The awareness campaign ended in front of the Parish Church of Mgarr.
As a final activity, Green Club students will now engage in a thorough clean up of the school’s garden 🙂
