Three students proudly presenting certificates awarded by the Karate Sensai. These students attend Karate lessons after school hours. Such sessions allow students to be more self disciplined, while keeping fit 🙂
Ms Rodgers, assistant head and coordinator of the school’s green club, has been keeping our members busy. The Green Club students are responsible for updating and decorating the notice board, among other things.
The Green Club have been busy growing an avocado nursery and taking care of the sunflowers which have been planted at school following the Hospice Awareness campaign. Such activities enhance environmental awareness, while offering our students moments of joy and pride.
Well done to all 🙂
A good number of students were presented with a certificate for participating in the Festa Frawli 2015 organised by the Local Council of Mġarr. These students prepared beautiful art work which was displayed along the school gates during Festa Frawli for all to appreciate the work of our students. Well done to all participants 🙂
Special thanks to Ms Rodgers, assistant head, for coordinating this event!
22 parents were awarded a certificate for participating in a parental skills course organised at our school. The course was coordinated by SEDQA through LEAP and consisted of 6 sessions, held once weekly. Mr Cauchi animated the sessions and parents were very enthusiastic and gave positive feedback about the course. Well done to all 🙂
On 7th May the school organised a special assembly for the college principal, Mr Sammut. He has served the college for the past 7 years and was instrumental in bringing St Nicholas College in the state it is today. When he was appointed college principal, he had to build the college from scratch. As the years passed by, the college flourished.
Mr Sammut has now reached the time when he has to bid farewell to his role as a college principal, however he will still be offering his services in the education department. The school, including all members of staff, students, parents and School Council wish him all the best of luck for the future.
A booklet was presented to the college principal with a repertoire of photos and cards prepared by every class from kinder to year 6. He was also presented with a voucher on behalf of the parents, students, school council and members of staff as a token of appreciation for his hard work and dedication.
Heartfelt thanks to Mr Sammut for his work, guidance and support 🙂 Special thanks goes to all the members of staff for having prepared the cards which were included in the booklet presented to Mr Sammut.
A number of students were presented with books for having collected more than €20 during the school marathon on this occassion.
On 6th May 2015 the school celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Pompei. May is the month dedicated to Our Lady. All the students from kinder to year 6 went to Mgarr Parish Church where mass was celebrated by the newly appointed parish priest, Dun Kalcidon.
The reading and other preparations were prepared by Ms Borg Vella, assistant head. Photos were taken by Ms Rodgers. Parents joined in the celebration of mass. Students were given a biscuit and a juice by the School Council.
This was another memorable event at our school reflecting the team work we strive for among all stakeholders.
