Symmetry painting…

SymmetryThe students of Ms Joanne Galea of K1.1 have been exploring about symmetry while having fun with paint. Exposing students to these experiences from a very early age, helps them to develop a keen interest in their surroundings and also makes them question why things are the way they are, enhancing their reasoning skills.

Learning about ourselves…

Myself

The K1.1 students of Ms Joanne Galea have been busy learning about the topic “Myself”. To complement this topic the students painted an outline drawing of a girl or a boy using pink and blue paint. Apart from enhancing their fine motor skills, the students had the opportunity to learn about themselves and about colours.

Finally the students cleaned their tables to enhance their own sense of personal care and that of taking care of others’ belongings ๐Ÿ™‚

Summer Time…

beach01 The Kindergarten students of Ms Joanne Galea and Ms Janice Vella are gearing up for summer. Who does not like a dip in the sea in the the hot summer months? However, from a very early age, students must learn to take the necessary precautions.beach02

The session kicked off by applying sunblock before going out in the sun. Students were asked to bring sun glasses, a hat or cap and a beach towel. The students then proceeded to the playing area. Beach towels were spread all over the place, an umbrella was secured in place, all had ample water to drink and all were ready to spend a “day at the beach”.

beach03During this activity students pretended to go diving and learnt about the use of goggles and fins. They later went for a boat ride and they had to paddle themselves to safety away from a curious shark.

The session ended by having a story read to the children “The Shark in the Park”. Students really enjoyed this session, while learning how to protect themselves from the harmful rays of the sun ๐Ÿ™‚
