Nurturing the School Garden

Green Club students, under the tutelage of Ms Rodgers, assistant head, came up with an interesting initiative held during Parents’ Day. The Green Club students sold smoothies and papaya seeds. Apart from promoting a healthy lifestyle, the students made use of the proceeds to purchase seeds and pots to nurture the school’ s front garden. Flowers and other seedlings have been sewn in the soil and/or pots. The school now boasts of a colourful front garden. Well done to the Green Club students for this initiative 🙂

Working with the Elderly at Mgarr

Wasteserv invited our school to participate in an environmental awareness event held at the Mgarr Day Centre.

The year 6 together students, accompanied by Ms Rodgers, Assistant Head, visited this Day Centre.

Students mingled with the old folk and asking them about reducing, reusing and recycling in the old days. The students enjoyed chatting with the elderly while learning more about their elderly. The elderly were very pleased to be visited by our young students and willingly shared information.

Carnival 2017

Carnival 2017 was celebrated in style with the help of the School Council and parent helpers. This year, the show was animated and prepared by the parents. The parents prepared a dance which the students adored. Then every year group from kinder to year 6 had to dance to music according to the choreography prepared by parents. Finally all members of staff were invited to dance one final dance before closing the show with the Maltese Carnival Hymn, Viva Viva l-Karnival

The school would like to thank the all the parent helpers and the School Council members for ensuring the success of such an event 🙂

Catch the Drop – online games to promote water conservation in Malta

HSBC Water Programme – Catch the Drop teamed up with Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) to further broaden the perspective on water issues by developing five digital games.

The games are Drip Drop, Filtro, Running Water, Summer is Coming, and Save the Drop.

They are available for free at: http://icaprojects.net/catch-the-drop/
While the games are pretty captivating in their simplicity and scoring, their story lines inspire the players to look at their usage of water in a new way.
