All About Me

Throughout the day children experience a wide range of feelings and emotions. Through the help of activities children learn to identify the different emotions and their feelings. This helps them to express themselves better.

Learning to Care About Others from an Early Age…

The K1.4 students of Ms Nagaat Bugeja participated in a number of activities during the dress down day prepared in aid of Hospice Malta. The students shared toys and made crafts together to enhance caring about others. They also made a sunflower collage since this symbolises Hospice Malta. Thus while learning to think of others, students enhanced their find motor skills.

Learning through play

The Year 1 students of Ms Louise Cutajar have kicked off the year by learning through play. Students were given some play dough to form numbers. Such activities help to create spatial awareness  (experimenting with shape and space) and improve eye-hand coordination.

In a separate activity students worked in pairs, during a Maltese lesson. They were given a piece of newspaper and they had to mark the letter ‘a’.

Captions – Kapxins

During an English writing lesson the children were divided into groups and had to come up with captions to write under each picture. Then, they had to colour the pictures. Finally, they had to share their captions as a group with their classmates.

During a Maltese writing lesson the children had to cut out pictures from magazines and glue them onto a chart. Then they had to write a caption about each picture. Finally, they shared their work as a group to their classmates.

Water and Sand Play…

Can you think of a kid that does not love playing with sand and water? The weather at this time of the year lends itself perfectly for some outdoor water and sand play. The students had a whale of a time playing in the school yard which was temporarily transformed into a water park 🙂
