The Year 4 children went to an outing about Robotics in Ta’ Qali. The children built robots using Lego.

On Friday 24 March, the two year 4 classes visited the Robotics Olympiad held at Ta’ Qali MFCC.
This outing inspired students to learn programming into an insightful and creative way. Students had the opportunity to bring abstract computer science concepts to life, they also had the opportunity to learn how to program robots (using LEGO) by using a programming language. This engaged the students in the learning process and enabled them to see their programme coming to life through Robots. This activity also served students to learn problem solving skills. Students had also the opportunity to make different coding activities.
Students enjoyed this hands-on learning actitivty.

The Year 6 students had a very interesting robotics workshop organised by the our eLearning support teacher, Ms Laura Schembri, together with the eLearning centre support team.
The students had the opportunity to build their own Lego robots. The robots were connected to a laptop and they had to be programmed to do particular movements.
With the help of this workshop the students had the opportunity to work in pairs or in groups, build their own robots by following a set of instructions and then work out a programme using the LEGO WEDO software.
One can tell from happy faces of the students that this was a very interesting workshop, where students had the opportunity to learn by doing.
Special thanks to the eLearning support team 🙂
