Traffic Awareness Day

A Traffic Awareness Day was organised by LESA and the Local Wardens at our school for kinder 2 and year 2 students. The aim of this activity was to raise road safety awareness among students.

Following a healthy discussion about road safety, the importance of wearing seat belts, the importance of not making use of mobile phones while driving and the importance of making good use of pedestrian crossings and traffic lights, the students proceeded to the school yard where they had a whale of a time riding motorised bikes and cars. Others joined the fun by pushing push chairs and driving a bicycle.

Students were awarded a certificate for passing their road safety test. The local wardens were very friendly and children welcomed them with an open heart. We hope that these youngsters will turn into responsible adults, and hopefully help pass on an important message about road safety to their families and friends.

The school thanks the Local Wardens and LESA for organising this event.
