Mixing Colours

Children were very interested in colour mixing and thus, this week we talked about this subject. We talked about the primary colours and after painting children’s hands in two primary colours, we asked them to rub their hands together. They were very excited to see that another colour appeared.

The Tortoise and the Hare

Today the children acted out the story of the tortoise and the hare. First we read the book and then some of the children played the part of the hare and some of the tortoise. They started together from the start line, the rabbit went running as fast as he could and decided to have a nap. The tortoise kept on walking slowly  until it finished the race. Finally they enjoyed some splashing in the puddles.

K2.2 – Zeffies Outing

During the outing at Zeffie’s the children prepared their own pizza. They started by spreading out the semolina on a plate, then they opened the dough using rolling pins. They spread tomato sauce and added toppings according to their liking. Until the pizza was being baked they enjoyed some free play in the play area, and finished off the outing by eating their pizza. 🙂

Book Fair

It was a wonderful day spent at the Book Fair held at MCC Valletta. All the students of Year 4.1 thoroughly enjoyed this experience and they were extremely excited to purchase their own books. Each child was given a wrist band and a voucher to use during the event. They were also shown a performance by fantastic actors! All in all, it was a great outing through which they continued to enrich their love for books! Ms Lewis

Different Leaves

Year 4.1 learnt about the different types of leaves during their latest science lesson. They also learnt why leaves fall in the autumn season and why they change their colour. Some trees never shed their leaves and are called ‘evergreen’. The students collected leaves and these are now beautifully displayed in the school corridor! Well done. Ms Lewis 🍂🍁🍃

Sowing Seeds & Living and Non Living

We are participating in the EWWR competition and our students are preparing for this by sowing seeds to be sold during Parents’ Afternoon. Also, after learning the differences between living and non living, the children were asked to go outside and label the different objects found.
