X’hemm l-Imgarr?

The Maths Support Team organised a national event in our locality, ‘X’hemm l-Imgarr’. The students of Yr 6.2 were paired with the students of Hamrun Primary in order to solve and carry out different experiments and activities. All activities were related to Science and Maths, such as finding the ideal material to use in order to have clean water, and cracking the code through letters.

The students really enjoyed themselves. The students were also given the opportunity to visit the shelter under ‘Tal-Barri’ restaurant.

Fieldwork around the locality of Mgarr

On Friday 17th February, the two Year 3 classes carried out the Social Studies fieldwork entitled Madwar l-Iskola Tagħna. The pupils started the fieldwork at school as they had to answer questions about it.  After, both classes observed the streets surrounding the school.   Amongst other things students had to write down what they could see in these streets, observe the vehicles passing from a busy street and mark down the shops one can find at the local square.

Finally, students had to answer questions about the local playing field.  There they also had a well deserved break.
