The K1.2 students of Ms Josianne had a story telling session about animals in the jungle. Following this session student made a jungle scene with the aim of learning about colours. The student also prepared various animal cut outs which were used for role play. 
Students learn a number of literacy skills at school. Since the introduction of the Benchmark Exam, oracy has been given its importance, being recognised as one of the major skills required by students to enhance their literacy skills.
A good method to enhance oracy skills is by giving students the opportunity to speak to an audience about a topic, book, hobby, etc.
During one of the oracy sessions, Ms Tiziana, the year 6 teacher, asked her students to prepare a “show and tell” session about a book they read. Students who needed to enhance their Maltese language skills were asked to prepare a book in Maltese, while others were asked to prepare a book in English.
Every student was given time to speak to their classmates about the book they read, giving a brief description of the book, the genre of the book and whether they liked the book or not.
