Kinder 1 students were very excited to meet a real doctor. Dr Scerri Harney visited our students in their class and helped them to understand the doctor’s work through play. She had great help and many assistants!!!!!

Pink Coconut Cakes
The students of K2.2 (Ms Felicia) and K2.1 (Ms Janice) prepared a simple Valentine’s Day treat. The children prepared the sponge where they had to sieve the flour, add eggs and water. The sponge was baked and left to cool down. Students cut it into small squares poured some melted jelly on the cakes. Finally they sprinkled some coconut flakes in the shape of a heart.

Pre-writing using Sand and Pasta
Kindergarten students preparing for writing using pasta and sand. At this stage learning letter formation is very important and students need to use different media to experiment with pre-writing.

Symbol Literacy at Mdina
The Kindergarten 2 students visited Mdina for a session of symbol literacy. The students walked around the Mdina ditch, followed by a lunch break. With their tummies full, the students entered the wall of the Silent City and were asked to find the door to the main entrance of the Cathedral Museum. Once inside the museum, the students had to find St Michael. Upon finding him, a story telling session and follow up activity kicked off. The students were prepared in advance about the character of St Michael.

Manikata Trail for Kindergarten
The Kindergarten students of Ms Nag Bugeja and Ms Camille Scerri visited the Manikta Trail were they had fun learning through landscapes and in touch with nature. They also fed the animals!

Kinder Novena
Kindergarten students during assembly preparing for the Christmas Novena. 
On the farm… a milking we go…
This week we did the topic ‘On the farm’ and during one activity the children learnt that cows give us milk. During this activity children pretended they were milking the cows.

Postman.. Postman…
During this activity the Kindergarten children painted a big cardboard box in red which was transformed into a letter box. On the next day they drew a picture which was placed inside a self addressed envelope. That same evening the letters were posted by the KGE in a real letter box!
The children were very excited when 2 days later they received their letter at home. A week later students received letters at school addressed to the children, thanks to the parents cooperation.

Learning about a healthy life from an early age
Ms Marie Therese Borg Mifsud visited the Kinder 1 classrooms to emphasize the need of healthy eating through a story. The children enjoyed this exercise and participated to the full in choosing the right foods.
Thinking of Others…
Celebrating the feast of St Martin is a long standing tradition at our school. The aim of celebrating this feast is to instill a sense of giving and receiving. Kindergarten students prepared hearts which were painted prior to this event. The hearts were stuck on a rainbow template representing the beauty of helping others. Dun Gorg, Mgarr Chaplain blessed all the goody bags which were later distributed to students.
