Majistral Park… Appreciating nature…

The Yr 4.2 students of Ms Kylie Said when for fieldwork at Majjistral Park. During this outing students had the opportunity to learn about the Malta flora and fauna, while also learning about the Maltese “Girna”. This is a stone structure built by farmers. Farmers used the girna to protect themselves from the sun and rain and to store their tools.

Captions – Kapxins

During an English writing lesson the children were divided into groups and had to come up with captions to write under each picture. Then, they had to colour the pictures. Finally, they had to share their captions as a group with their classmates.

During a Maltese writing lesson the children had to cut out pictures from magazines and glue them onto a chart. Then they had to write a caption about each picture. Finally, they shared their work as a group to their classmates.

Birgu

The Year 4 children went to Birgu Fest where they did a lot of activities and saw interesting places such as the Parish Church of St. Lawrence and the Inquisitor’s Palace.

Plurals

During an English grammar lesson about plurals the children had to write the plurals of the words on the flashcard on a sticky note and stick them under the right column on the three charts provided.

Story Starter – Stranded on an Island

In a creative writing lesson the year 4.1 class have used the Lego StoryStarter to do a more hands-on writing lesson. In groups they all enjoyed planning the storyboard, building their settings, taking pictures of their settings using the tablet and sharing them with their classmates. 

Finally, they have written their sentences based on what they have built.
