Transport

The Kinder 1.2 students of Ms Josianne have been learning about the various means of transport used to travel in air, on land and at sea. This offered the students the opportunity to learn how to sort objects. Students also learnt about the various directions and ways one can travel e.g in a straight line, in a circle or in zig zag formation. Students also learned about the value and recognition of number 4 and later had to stick 4 bricks on a truck.

Seħer l-Istejjer / The Magic of Stories

The school has embarked on a programme with the aim of building a love for stories together with the National Literacy Agency. The programme, The Magic of Stories, or, Seħer l-Istejjer, is based on a number of 6 sessions where parents are invited to join their children, in class, while stories are being animated. Thus far the sessions being held are for K2.1, Yr 1.1 and Yr 1.2. However we shall further extend this project to reach the all the classrooms of early year students.

Special thanks to Ms Patricia Gatt for animating these stories and to Ms Marianne Schembri for offering this initiative to our school.

Shared Reading

sharedReading is essential for every child’s education. Students love stories, especially when they are read to them. The Literacy Support Teacher, Ms Annabelle Azzopardi, is currently doing class demo lessons to enhance the use of Shared Reading in the daily teaching and learning process. This is a school initiative based on the school’s action plan for the improvement of literacy.

The feast of St Martin

San MartinAs per tradition, students are given a goody bag on the feast of St. Martin to remember the acts of kindness and generosity of this saint. The priest blessed these good bags which were later distributed to all classes. Special thanks to the school council and parent helpers for helping in the preparation of these bags.
