The Year 1.1 students of Ms Louise prepared a healthy pasta salad. They learnt the steps needed how to cook pasta and helped in cleaning up when finished. Through such activities the school promotes healthy eating, while teaching students, from a very young age the importance of cleanliness and of giving a helping hand.
Contractions
The year 3.1 students have been learning about contractions. After discussions and activities related to this topic, the students engaged in a matching activity as a group. Each group was given a set of flashcards with different long forms (such as do not) and short forms (such as don’t). They enjoyed matching the long forms with the correct short forms.

3D Shapes
The students are learning about 3D shapes at the moment. They sang along merrily to the 3D shapes song and learned about 3D shapes in objects they can see in their everyday life. The students also played an online game to show their knowledge of 3D shapes and their names. They later handled each 3D shape in order to learn about their properties (i.e. faces, vertices and edges). The students also participated in a sorting activity in order to distinguish between 2D and 3D shapes.

Learning with tablets….
Since from this scholastic year tablets have been introduced in the daily teaching process, the year 4.2 class of Ms Mathea Vassallo used the tablet to work out Mental Maths questions and Religion questions in a form of a quiz. This also served as a revision session for the upcoming exams. Children enjoyed it very much!
