Making music with water…
The year 1.2 students of Ms Louise Cutajar, had a very interesting science lesson. First the children had time to explore different ways how to make sound using a pencil and an empty plastic cup. Then they filled a few of the cups with different amounts of water in each. They tapped the cups with a pencil and observed the sound. Each of the cups had a different tone. The children enjoyed creating different tunes to create their own music.

Today Ms Haber and her team visited our school to continue the 2nd phase of the clay tiles being done to create a mural with the theme “Under the Sea”.
The students and their teachers had to paint their tiles using special paint. The tiles will be taken back for 2 more baking processes. We look forward to seeing the end results.
Teachers’ quote: “Our treasures”. We look forward to having these treasured displayed at school. Well done to all for making this project come true. Special thanks to the school council for funding this project 🙂

The year 1 students have embarked on a creative project. This project is being funded through the school council. Every student was to prepare a clay tile. The students went to the Alka Ceramics work shop where they had the opportunity to see how a clay can be transformed into beautiful works of art by Ms Haber.
Following the tour, the students started their work. The theme chosen was “Under the Sea”. Every student was give a clay tile to work on and they had to create their own underwater scene.
The tiles had to be baked in the special urn and work will be continued at a later date at school since the tiles have to be painted and then glazed and cooked again. The tiles will finally be mounted in the school corridors.
Jum l-Ilma
It-22 ta’ Marzu kien il-Jum Dinji ddedikat għall-Ilma.
It-tfal tal-ewwel sena ta’ Ms Marilyn Bugeja (Yr 1.2) tkellmu u ddiskutew metodi dwar kif nistgħu nibżgħu għall-ilma. It-tfal identifikaw diversi metodi, fosthom li jgħalqu l-vit meta ma jkollhomx bżonn l-ilma, jew jinħaslu f’eqsar ħin. Huma tgħallmu ukoll dwar l-użu tal-bjar fid-djar tagħna.
It-tfal għamlu preżentazzjoni qasira quddiem it-tfal tal-iskola billi qraw poeżija miktuba minn Sra. Rita Tabone (Skola Primarja Floriana) u wara kantaw kanzunetta qasira dwar li nibżgħu għall-ambjent ta’ madwarna.

Time
When learning about time, the year 1.2 students of Ms Marilyn Bugeja were given the opportunity to work together to practice what they knew. They had fun in finding the required clock faces, drawing the hands of the clock and reading the time.
Apart from identifying and drawing clock hands they also practised other group skills!
