During this week’s crafts lesson, the yr 3.1 students of Ms Sharon made an elephant out of a paper plate. We used a sponge to dab paint on the paper plate. This created a lovely pattern and textured effect. We used the parts we cut from the paper plate to make the elephant’s trunk and eyes. But most of all students made this craft from recycled material 🙂
The Yr 3.1 students of Ms Sharon have been reading pairs from the book Daisy and the Dentist. The students talked about the pictures and then had a shared reading session where the teacher read the story to the children. New words were discussed followed by questions to check out for comprehension. Finally, the children read the story with a partner.
The Yr 6.1 students of Ms Raisa can be seen building various scenarios using LEGO blocks. These packs serve as story starters. The students create their own scenes based upon a prompt by the teacher. Once these scenes are built, the students write their own story. 
The K1.1 student of Ms Joanne and the K1.2 students of Ms Josianne prepared a delicious pizza. During such cookery lessons children learn about colours, textures and flavours, while at the same time enhancing their find motor skills… And who knows… maybe we have some future chefs among these little kids 🙂
Every educational institution tries its best to provide the learners with the most effective learning programme. However for this to become a reality, professionals need to further develop their skills through on-going training. The Kindergarten Assistants, together with their Learning Support Assistants had a hands-on session regarding literacy strategies and the use of story bags. The session was animated by the Head of Department, Ms Cristina, together with the Literacy Support Teachers, Ms Azzopardi and Ms Galea.
The K2.3 students of Ms Joan prepared a very healthy snack. Students made fruit kebabs using apples, oranges, bananas and grapes. While learning about the importance of consuming healthy food, the students learnt about colours and textures.
The Yr 6.2 students of Mr Matthew Cassar kicked off the day with a special assembly. The students prepared a dance and gave a great performance to all students. Finally they asked some of the younger students to go on stage and join them.

Mass was celebrated during the month of October. The mass was animated by Ms Borg Vella, assistant head. This mass was dedicated with special intentions for all the children suffering from war.
The Yr 5.1 students of Dr Micallef investigating methods of how to find the area of a flat surface. At the same time students were given the opportunity to understand the concept of area and how to derive the formula: Area = Length x Breadth through hands-on activities.
