Dinja Waħda… Fikx in trouble…

FixxThe Kindergarten students of Ms Joanne, Ms Janice and Ms Marija have been busy working on another Dinja Waħda project. Through this project the students had time to visit the school garden and to observe different creatures that live in the soil.

This project was an opportunity for students to learn about lizards, spiders, birds, butterflies and the natural habitat of these creatures. They also learnt how these creatures depend on each other in order to survive.

A healthy drink…

The Kindergarten students of Ms Marija Spiteri, prepared a very healthy drink by squeezing some oranges. These activities not only enhance the healthy eating and living policies, but lend themselves perfectly for students to learn colours, shapes, enhance their fine motor skills, and more.

Healthy Breakfast

The Kindergarten students of Ms Joanne Galea and Ms Janice Vella prepared a very healthy breakfast. The students had the opportunity to prepare toast using brown bread, lettuce leaves, cherry tomatoes, ham, cheese and carrots.

Moreover, the toast was presented in the shape of a butterfly. Such activities lend themselves perfectly to enhance the students’ fine motor skills, food handling skills, shapes, colours and awareness of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Easter Figolli

The Kinder 1 students of Ms Joanne Galea, Ms Josianne Camilleri and Ms Sarah Ann Bonello have been busy preparing the traditional Figolli in a run up for the Easter festivities.

Little Artists at Work…

Collage 01

The K1.2 students of Ms Joanne Galea have been discussing the importance of healthy eating. During a number of sessions the students spoke about fruit and vegetables. Not only are they colourful, but fruit and vegetables are very healthy for us human beings.Collage 02To help the students thing more positively about fruit and vegetables, Ms Joanne helped the students create a beautiful collage using orange and lemon printing, cabbage leaves and artichoke leaves.

Such activities help build students’ fine motor skills and socialising skills. Well done to our little artists 🙂

 

 

Maths Workshops for Parents of K1 and K2 students

Maths KinderOn 30th January 2015 a meeting for was held for the parents of the new kindergarten entrants. Following this meeting a maths work, by Ms Joanne Vella, Maths Support teacher, was held for all the parents of students in both kinder 1 and kinder 2. Parents enjoyed these sessions and showed a keen interest in the new methods being used in mathematics.
